Isn't it a large trunk ?
Once you have loaded the emergency kit, the spare wheel, the jack, the towing cable (!), the warning triangle, the oil cans, the fire extinguisher, the screwdrivers and all the rest, you do not have much space left for your shopping basket. And you cannot impute that lack of space to the 21 l gas tank...
